The Resonant System (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is based in Seattle, Washington. This policy explains what we collect and why, across this website and the reflections we send by email.

What we collect

Your email address — only if you subscribe. When you enter your email to subscribe, we store it to send you the daily reflection and occasional related updates. Subscription is double opt-in: we email a confirmation link, and you’re only added once you confirm. That’s the only personal information we ask for.

Anonymous usage analytics. We record which page you visited. When a reflection is read or shared we also record which reflection, and which of the two it was. Either way the event carries the website that sent you here if there was one, a coarse country derived from your network connection, and a daily-rotating, non-identifying marker used only to count unique visits within a single day. We do not use cookies, we do not store your IP address, and there is no cross-site or cross-day tracking. You can turn this off by appending ?mute-analytics=1 to any page’s URL — the choice is remembered in your browser and applies from then on.

A referral code, if a shared link carried one. If you arrive through a link that carries a referral code, we record which one alongside the event above, so we can tell how many people arrived from a particular post. The code is held for the rest of your browsing session and is discarded when you close the tab. It says something about the link, never about you.

What we don’t do

No advertising. No selling or renting your information. No third-party advertising or analytics trackers. No tracking cookies.

Service providers

We use a few vendors purely to run the site, each processing data only to provide their service:

• Supabase — stores the subscriber list and runs the subscribe function.
• Cloudflare — hosts and serves the website.
• Resend — delivers the reflection emails.

Nothing else loads from anywhere else. The fonts are served from this site rather than from Google, so no third party sees your visit as a side effect of the page rendering.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe anytime via the link in every email.
• Opt out of analytics as described above.
• Request deletion of your email from our list by contacting us at [email protected].

Children

The Resonant System is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16.

Changes

We reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time, at our discretion — for example, if our practices change, we add a feature, or the law requires it. When we make a change, we’ll post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes to how we use your email, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers by email. Your continued use of the site or the emails after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
